40 Global Banks, One Digital Treasury Process: D.TRADING and IT-Enterprise Present Their Case at CFO Forum 2026
At the 24th Ukrainian CFO Forum, held in Kyiv on October 22–23, D.TRADING, part of the DTEK Group, presented a case study on establishing a centralised financial management function powered by the Ukrainian digital platform IT-Enterprise. Serhii Naiuk, Head of Treasury at D.TRADING, explained how the European energy trader automated the processing of 90% of bank statements across more than 40 banks worldwide, unified financial operations across eight countries under direct management, and enabled real-time liquidity calculations.
Amid heightened uncertainty and wartime risks, effective cash flow management has become essential to business continuity. D.TRADING operates in 26 European countries, trades on 22 European exchanges, and works with more than 40 banking partners across 200 IBAN accounts in 14 currencies. Under these conditions, traditional manual data reconciliation would have created a significant operational bottleneck.
By implementing the IT-Enterprise ERP platform, D.TRADING replaced fragmented local software and Excel spreadsheets with a unified digital financial model, providing a single source of truth across its operations in eight countries.
The key technology solutions delivered as part of the automation project include:
-
Automated morning liquidity monitoring: At 9:00 a.m., the system automatically notifies treasury staff about the status of balance uploads across all 200 IBAN accounts and reconciles transaction volumes online between the ERP system and the banks’ online banking platforms.
-
Automated data recognition and analytics: By intelligently analysing payment descriptions, the system automatically identifies and populates counterparties, contracts, currencies, financial responsibility centres, financial categories, and specific product lines—including electricity, natural gas, and coal—for 90% of banking transactions.
-
An integrated payment calendar and overnight deposits: Automatic calculation of projected end-of-day balances provides an early view of expected liquidity, enabling the treasury team to identify surplus funds in the morning and place them in short-term, same-day deposits. This transforms treasury from a primarily operational function into a source of additional income.
“Financial resilience has a very tangible measure: cash flow. Profit on a financial statement is great in theory, but liquidity and cash flow are the oxygen of a business. When you operate at the speed required to serve 26 European countries, you cannot afford to manage money with a one- or two-day delay.
“Together with the IT-Enterprise team, we built a system that processes 90% of bank statements fully automatically, without human intervention. This has freed our finance team from routine ‘data archaeology’ in Excel, allowing them to focus on protecting working capital, scenario planning, and maximising returns,” said Serhii Naiuk, Head of Treasury at D.TRADING.
The transition to a unified IT-Enterprise platform has enabled D.TRADING to maintain full control over outgoing payments, automate plan-versus-actual analysis, and optimise treasury operations as the business grows.
“Today, digitalising finance in a large enterprise is a direct strategic investment in resilience and business continuity. Our goal is to give senior management and CFOs a single source of truth in real time, ensuring that market changes and operational challenges are immediately reflected in financial models and enabling informed decisions within seconds.
“Cases like D.TRADING demonstrate that Ukrainian technology solutions can deliver results on a par with those of leading global ERP providers,” said Oleh Shcherbatenko, Founder and CEO of IT-Enterprise.
D.TRADING and IT-Enterprise plan to continue their digital transformation partnership, with the next phase focusing on automating all cash movements, strengthening banking risk controls, and improving credit and debt management. This phase of the project is scheduled for 2027.
