IT-Enterprise’s Ukrainian-Built AI Agent “Marko” Earns Ukrposhta European Recognition

Ukrposhta has received the Rising Star award at the PostEurop Innovation Awards 2026 for implementing “Marko,” an AI agent that helps the company process financial documents. The Ukrainian project was recognized during the PostEurop General Assembly in Baku, Azerbaijan, according to an announcement published by Ukraine’s national postal operator on October 16, 2026.

“Marko” is a joint development by Ukrposhta and Ukrainian IT company IT-Enterprise. The AI agent automates financial document processing by checking invoices, service acceptance certificates, and documents related to rent, utility bills, and telecommunications services. It cross-checks the information against contracts and identifies discrepancies. Previously, employees handled these tasks manually, verifying details, comparing documents, and entering information into the corporate system. Now, AI performs a significant share of these operations, while complex cases are flagged for further review by specialists.

The project launched in June 2025, underwent testing that fall, and entered full-scale operation in January 2026. During the first three months of 2026, Marko processed 26,037 documents. Processing time fell by 60–80%, while verification accuracy reached 99.5%. As a result, finance teams spend less time on repetitive tasks and can close reporting periods faster.

“We have fully automated parcel sorting, are expanding our parcel locker network, and continue to develop digital services. Now, artificial intelligence is helping us transform our internal processes as well. We are transforming Ukrposhta systematically, from sorting centers to finance departments. Our goal is to make Ukrposhta faster and as convenient as possible for every customer. International awards confirm that Ukrainian technological solutions are gaining recognition at the European level,” said Ihor Smilianskyi, CEO of Ukrposhta JSC.

For Ukrposhta, the project demonstrates how AI can move beyond experimentation to become a practical tool embedded in everyday financial operations, delivering measurable improvements in processing speed, accuracy, and team workload.

“The joint project delivered by the IT-Enterprise team and Ukrposhta is compelling evidence that Ukrainian AI technologies have reached a level where they can tackle complex challenges on a national scale and set new standards not only in Ukraine but across Europe. For us, this award confirms that artificial intelligence in Ukraine has long moved beyond experimentation and become a driver of real business transformation. It significantly reduces the burden of routine work, minimizes human error, and accelerates operational decision-making. I sincerely congratulate the Ukrposhta team on this major European achievement, as well as the entire Ukrainian business community, which, despite all the challenges, continues to move forward and boldly adopt new technologies, demonstrating the resilience, innovation, and strength of Ukrainian ingenuity to the world,” said Oleg Shcherbatenko, CEO and founder of IT-Enterprise.

IT-Enterprise continues to expand its AI ecosystem. As reported earlier, IT-Enterprise’s AI technologies are now used across multiple sectors of Ukraine’s economy, from logistics to defense.

According to AI Focus 2026, a study conducted by visual communications agency Top Lead, IT-Enterprise was placed in the highest category of companies undergoing AI transformation: “Advanced Stage of AI Adoption.” Analysts found that only 38.9% of Ukrainian companies had reached this level of digital maturity. These companies are predominantly large enterprises, many of which are building their AI transformation on IT-Enterprise solutions.

PostEurop brings together 53 postal operators from 51 countries and territories across Europe and is officially recognized as a regional union of the Universal Postal Union. Its Innovation Awards recognize technological solutions for the postal sector. This year, 12 projects from European postal operators were included in the association’s innovation showcase.
